Recycling your Mighty Products

Our Mighty products are made with Tyvek® which is a highly recyclable form of HDPE (grade #2 plastic). Not all recycling centers are ready to accept this form of HDPE, however Tyvek® can be recycled at more than 70 facilities in North America that accept flexible HDPE products with the SPI symbol (left). For assistance in locating the one nearest you, contact DuPont at 1-800-448-9835.

DuPont also provides additional support for customers, recyclers and trade associations to help facilitate collection and recycling of Tyvek products (AKA Spunbonded Olefin). Spunbonded Olefin is included in the ASTM 5203 standard for HDPE from post-consumer uses. For more information, call the Dupont Recycle Hotline at 1-800-448-9835.

At Dynomighty we have our own recycling program where you can send any used Mighty products made of Tyvek and we will recycle them for you.

Simply send your used items to:

Dynomighty Design
Attn. Recycling
18 Bridge Street #4G
Brooklyn, NY 11201

Dupont has also set up their own recycling program for Tyvek®. In order to send in your old Mighty product you are going to need a used Tyvek envelope, turn it inside out (so the unprinted white surface shows on the outside) and address and mail the envelope to:

Tyvek® Recycle
Attn. Shirley B. Wright
2400 Elliham Avenue #A
Richmond, VA 23237

DuPont strongly supports and practices the principle that the use of recycled products is a critical part of resource conservation. DuPont also uses post-consumer recycled (PCR) high density polyethylene (HDPE) from such sources as milk or water jugs. Several styles of Spunbonded Olefin are made using 25% PCR material, and they are equal in quality, performance and aesthetics to Spunbonded Olefin products made of “virgin” HDPE.

Waste-to-energy incineration
Although incineration is not practiced as extensively in the United States as it is in Europe or Japan, Spunbonded Olefin can be safely incinerated. Under optimal conditions, it yields water and carbon dioxide, and leaves essentially no residue for disposal. In fact, Spunbonded Olefin is an excellent fuel for generating heat or electricity because it yields two or more times the energy value of coal and is equal to oil in BTU rating. For more information, contact DuPont at 1-800-448-9835.
